Relationship Insight and Communication Skills
-
If you often find yourself shutting down or getting overwhelmed with anger, it can feel nearly impossible to have the kind of open, honest conversations you want. In therapy, we’ll work together to turn those reactive moments into opportunities for connection and assertiveness—where your voice is heard.
You’ll learn the 5 Secrets of Effective Communication (from Dr. David Burns) to move beyond the same old arguments and start feeling truly understood. As we go, you’ll get to know your personal triggers and emotional patterns so they don’t keep running the show.
And most importantly, we’ll focus on helping you feel more grounded in your worth—so you can ask for what you need, handle conflict more confidently, and feel deserving of healthy, respectful relationships with your partner, parents, or anyone close to you.
Parenting and family dynamics
-
Helping your child learn to manage their emotions lays the foundation for confidence, resilience, and healthy relationships. That process starts with how you parent. If you find yourself slipping into patterns like being too controlling, overly accommodating, or emotionally checked out, you're not alone.
These styles—coercive, pampering, or disengaged—are common, especially if they were part of your own upbringing. In our work together, you’ll learn how to step into a respectful leadership role—one that balances firm boundaries with warmth and understanding. We’ll explore what’s really driving your child’s behavior, whether it’s attention-seeking, power struggles, or withdrawal, and how to respond in ways that actually meet their needs.
You’ll also learn how to move away from performance-based parenting and focus on building a strong, secure relationship. And you’ll discover how to teach, encourage, and support your child in ways that prepare them for the world—while staying grounded in connection, not fear.
Individual Counseling for anxiety, depression, or trauma
-
If you grew up in a chaotic or emotionally confusing environment, you may find yourself stuck in patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, anxiety, or low self-worth. Therapy offers a space to understand where these patterns come from—and how to move forward with more clarity, confidence, and compassion for yourself.
Using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and inner parts interact—and how to gently shift the ones that are holding you back. You’ll learn how trauma and early experiences shape your mood, identity, and relationships, and how to develop healthy coping strategies that truly support your healing.
We’ll also use tools like Positive Reframing (from Dr. David Burns) to soften harsh self-talk and build emotional resilience. Whether you're working through depression, rebuilding self-esteem, or learning to understand your triggers with more compassion, therapy can help you reconnect with your true self.
ADHD Coping Skills for Adults
-
Living with ADHD can feel like a constant battle with motivation, mood, and routine—but it doesn’t have to be that way. In therapy, we’ll explore what actually helps someone with ADHD get things done—without relying on shame, pressure, or willpower alone.
You’ll learn how to work with your moods instead of fighting them, and how to build structure and routine in a way that feels flexible, not stifling. Together, we’ll take a holistic look at ADHD—how it affects your emotions, goals, relationships, and sense of self. We’ll look at the root of procrastination and learn strategies to move forward, even when it’s hard to get started.
Most importantly, you’ll begin to rebuild the confidence and self-esteem that often gets lost after years of struggling to meet expectations, and start creating a life that works for you.
